The HFCC-FT, AFT Local 1650, represents full-time teaching faculty, counselors, and librarians at Henry Ford Community College. Chartered in 1966, Local 1650 was, in September of that year, the first college faculty Bargaining Unit in the country to go on strike. Since 1966, the HFCC-FT has negotiated one of the nation's leading community college contracts and strongest traditions of collegial shared governance.
